On 7 October 2026, we collected every Google profile of takeaways and fast-food outlets in the municipality of Annecy (addresses in Annecy and under the former names of the municipalities merged into it: Annecy-le-Vieux, Seynod, Cran-Gevrier, Meythet, Pringy) (primary category: fast food, kebab, sandwich shop, burger, tacos, snack bar), read the 1,113 most recent reviews of 60 profiles drawn at random, and looked at who ranks in the top three on Google Maps from five points in the city. Public Google data, collected for us by a data provider named in the method.
What we never do: name a business, copy a review, keep profile details for more than 30 days. We publish totals, shares and medians, dated, under a CC BY 4.0 licence.
